Cento Alla Torre is located just next to Tower Hill underground station and Tower Gateway DLR and looks over to Tower of London.
I ended up here by accident as I was staying at the Tower Suites by Blue Orchid, and the restaurant is part of the hotel, so was super handy when I had arrived late and I was tired and hungry!! As a typical tourist I asked for a table at the window and although it was dark you could see the Tower of London lit up across the road.
The Food
To start I had the Buffalo Mozzarella with grilled aubergines, mint and chillies. This was served as a cold started and was deliciously light and fresh – such a lovely way to start the meal.
For mains I opted for the Pumpkin Ravioli – the plate arrived with a plentiful amount of ravioli and each one was full of pumpkin filling and covered in a butter and sage sauce.
For dessert, I choose the Hazelnut Semifreddo which was delicious – it was a chocolate pyramid which had a Ferrero Rocher like filling packed with hazelnuts
The menu is as you would expect – full of Italian goodness. Lots of choice and they also do a children’s menu.
The AF alternatives
There were LOADS – they had a selection of mocktails and a small selection of AF wines (which I have never seen at any other Italian EVER) which was really good to see. I opted for an AF Pornstar Martini which made me feel like I wasn’t missing out on a Friday night in London.
